Our annual Kingston Pizza Cruise had sailing, eating and Trumpeting.
Boats sailed across the sound in intermittent squalls rolling from Kingston to Seattle. Every got some sailing in both sun and rain. As almost all the boats huddled in shelter out of the driving hail we finally saw Outlaw come in cold and wet to complete the crew. And then when the sun came out, more crew joined us by car on the dock for a healthy vegetable happy hour. A trumpet turned up at the dock and several crew took turns showing off their embouchure!
Then the owner of Westside Pizza had a big table for us as we dove into his famous Death By Pizza signature pie. All the while being serenaded by a jazz trumpet! A real one! He even played the now almost signature Pizza Cruise Lumber Jack song!.
By Mutual agreement we all moved to the Ale House. They setup a huge table for us too and we launched into a raging game of Cards Against Humanity, while waiting for Karaoke to start, so we could all sing the Lumberjack song (you cant make this stuff up).
some of our crew who joined us by land had to leave at dawn so we tearfully bid them goodbye for good show and retreated to what turned out to be cold boats for such a sunny afternoon. But not before a quartet sung the Lumber Jack Song on the streets of Kingston in the dark.
Sunday saw a beautiful sunny day and most of crews walked up to Farm House for amazing breakfasts. And finally, the whole fleet left the dock in a hurry to catch the nice 10 knot northerly home to Seattle to cap off a great sailing weekend.
