Race Staff and Whaler Driver Training Day

CYC will be holding an all day training session for race committee staff and volunteer drivers for our mark set and rescue Boston Whalers.

The club will focus on volunteers as our top priority.

To be eligible to be a volunteer driver, you need to be:

(a) a CYC member, and

(b) legally authorized to operate a powerboat in Washington State (we will talk about the state licensing requirement in the class).

Class starts at 10am with the first two hours on shore in CYC, followed by a short lunch, and then the next few hours on the water setting a course, adjusting it through wind shifts, and running a few practice starts and races.

Plan to finish by 4pm. 

It’s fun and challenging, and gives you a great opportunity to give back to your fellow sailors.
