We've brought back one of the favorite cruises of the year. Blakely Rocks Low Tide cruise with brunch on the beach is a long standing event with CYC. We will anchor/raft up in Blakely Harbor and take dinghies to the beach at Blakely Rocks at low tide. Saturday, July 16 is the best tide of the weekend - there is a -2.74 tide and on Sunday the tide is not quite as low. This is a great opportunity to explore the sea life that lives below and makes for a good family outing. Kids love finding the little sea creatures. So get ready for some fun in the sun on the beach at Blakely Rocks. Bring your beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach blankets, sunscreen and don't forget a potluck item.

Some of you may prefer to join us for just the day - it is possible to anchor for a short time off the beach.

Here's the plan

Friday - we encourage you to go to Blakely Harbor on friday night and get anchored or rafted. We will be encouraging small rafts of 4 boats or individual anchoring.

Saturday - July 16 - if you can't make it on Friday, arrive at Blakely Harbor and get rafted/ anchored by 11am .You will need to leave early on Saturday to get settled in time for the low tide event on the rocks. Dinghy or Kayak transportaion will be required to get to the rocks.

At noonish - Take your dinghy and potluck item to Blakley Rocks beach and set up for brunch. Gather for brunch and social time and then explore the low tide pools and rocks at low tide 1:30.( In the past we have had the event on the rocks on Sunday but this year the better tide is on Saturday.)  This makes for an early departure from the dock on Saturday. Or go over the night before for a more relaxed weekend. Don't forget your water shoes or boots for splashing in the shallows.

Saturday evening - happy hour with drinks and appetizers (we call this a dippy dinner because after so many snacks no dinner is needed)

Sunday - Have coffee with your neighbor. Go ashore for some great walks to Rich Passage or a shorter hike up to the Labyrinth Park.

Looking forward to seeing you at Blakely Harbor.

. More detailed info will be sent to those who are registered as we get closer to event.
