Have you ever seen a sailboat and said "I want to try that?" Or gone out sailing and wanted to learn more? Do you have kids taking sailing lessons?
CYC Seattle is offering a Intro to Sailing for Women course in the month of June. We will be meeting every Thursday to got out on the water on some of the finest cruising sailboats in the PNW. In this course you will learn some of the basics - parts of the boat, safety, basic knots and where to use them, getting the boat ready, getting sails up, SAILING, wind direction, racing and teamwork, but mostly you will learn what it feels like to set SAIL. This is a great course to see if sailing is for you.
This is NOT a classroom course, you will be setting out on the water every week. There might even be a night that you will race against other boats in the course (just for fun and bragging rights)
No experience required, but if you have some that is great too. We do require you to physically able to climb aboard, pull lines, grind winches - this is an ACTIVE course.
After the sail we will be gathering at the yacht club to share experiences and ask questions, meet other women sailors and enjoy the sunset.
