It was a weekend of unexpectedly pleasant weather, with three boats braving the forecast. The weather on Saturday morning looked bleak with rain and snow, but by late morning had dried up. We started the 10 mile sail south in a light to moderate northerly that shifted to southerly about half way to Blake Island. Once the new wind filled, it was a great sail to the Blake Island marina and the sunshine. Some people took hikes on Saturday. That night we had a potluck dinner in the newly rebuilt shelter with a nice fire that kept us almost warm while we played competitive game of Mexican Train.
Sunday morning we had a mix of sun and clouds with a breakfast potluck on Coquette, followed by a hike half way around the island. The sail back was quick with good current and winds from the south averaging around 10 knots. Shilshole welcomed us back with a blustery hailstorm.
All in all, it was a very fun weekend!
