Planning our family trip To Desolation and the timing might just work to meet up for part of this adventure in July. Would love to be included in conversations and learn from those who have been there before!

This sounds like a great trip to join in on.

Have you started thinking about your annual vacation cruise?  Are you ready to submit your vacation dates at work?

How about a rendezvous with Wind Dancer in July somewhere in the islands?

In 2018 four CYC boats met up in 3 different Gulf Island harbours.  It wasn't all planned, but it was all fun!

This year we plan to depart Shilshole the Saturday after July 4th on Wind Dancer.  The outbound leg will go through Saratoga Passage, overnighting inside Deception Pass.  Then spend a night or so in the San Juans, before going through Canadian customs in Bedwell Harbour.  The next night will be in the Northern Gulf Islands maybe Montague, Telegraph Harbour, or Silva Bay.  There we will wait for a nice day to make the crossing of the Strait of Georgia to Smugglers Cove or Secret Cove.  The remaining free days of that week are available for visiting fun places on the Sunshine Coast - maybe even Princess Louisa. Saturday night July 13 will be in Pender Harbour for a crew change flying in and out (driving and ferry from Seattle is also possible).

The second leg of 2 or 3 weeks will be a round trip  North to Desolation Sound, and then the Discovery Islands / The Big Passes North of Desolation.  In the longer version we would also visit the Broughton Islands.

The homeward leg will start from Pender Harbour on July 28 or August 4th, returning to Seattle in one week.

Would you like to meet up somewhere along this cruise?  Would you just like to talk about cruising the islands?  Send a note to me at mcmuldroch@comcast.net

I am thinking that our second Thursday in March potluck would be a good time to talk about cruise planning, and tips for cruising the islands.
