- Jim Miller For his exceptional contribution of time in maintaining our race equipment, computer hardware and software, and tackling various volunteer tasks, far beyond what should be expected from our Fleet Captain Race. Thank You.
- Tom Nyland and Jay Winberg Coordinated clubhouse move and utilities reattachment with marina contractors.
- Tom Nyland Replaced missing letter in Leschi clubhouse sign. Replaced the CYC clubhouse sign at Shilshole front entrance. Made the vessel number sign above the doorway to the upper meeting room at Shilshole clubhouse.
- Kerry Nielan and George Trusk Engraved all the annual CYC trophies/awards and updated the trophy cases.
- Dave McLean Event coordinator for Center Sound series. Dave selected and ordered the trophies and T-shirts.
- Dan Olson Event coordinator for PSSR. Dan selected and ordered T-shirts and trophies for the event.
- Harry Dursch and Eric Sanderson Instrumental in securing Leschi sublease tenant. Coordinating improvements to Leschi clubhouse.
- Charles Fawcett, Steve Johnson, and Jim Miller Positioned and attached concrete floats around clubhouse.
- John Rahn Organizing educational talks for the club.
- John Cahill and Eric Sanderson Editing and soliciting advertisers for the Helmsman.
- Dan Heyl Coordinated CYC open house. Dan has donated batteries for two whalers and VHF radios.
- Russ Engbrecht Improved the PA system on YC6.
- Derek Storm Constantly maintains and updates a very complex and informative website for the club. Derek devotes a lot of personal time and is a stickler for accuracy.
- Elizabeth Blakemore Editor of CYC Helmsman.
- Regular Race Committee volunteers have been Carolyn Gernert and Joel Ferguson on Thursdays. Joyce and Stan Butchart and Lorraine Carter have helped out on weekends.
2005
Thanks to George Trusk and Tom Nylund who have put screens on the low windows on the West side of the clubhouse. These windows presented a hazard for children who could fall out. (Reported by board member Craid Hosefield, who shares responsibility for volunteer coordination with Dan Heyl.)
The following deserve special recognition for efforts and accomplishments on behalf of CYC. This list was made by Director Dan Heyl, who is responsible for volunteer coordination and by Jim Miller, Fleet Captain Race.
Regular Race Committee volunteers have been Becky Byrd on Wednesday and Carolyn Gernert on Thursday andJoel Ferguson both Tuesday and Thursday. Geoff Pease, Joe James, Christa Haynes, Chris Raftery, Dan Heyl,Joyce and Stan Butchart, Lorraine Carter, Susan Bogert, Joe McNulty, Andy Ewing and David Dodd have helped out on weekends. Lisa Winterhalter did a lot of coordinating for PSSR, in support of Dan Olson, the event coordinator.Becky, Joel and Carolyn are true heros this year.
- Doug Stumberger and Eric Sanderson edited and assembled the 2005 edition of the Helmsman.
- Kurt Hoehne continued editing and producing the Leadline when no other editor stepped forward.
- Harry Dursch has been instrumental in the successful negotiation of the new lease for the Leschi Club house. His efforts will save 10% on the previous lease and will make a lot of lake sailors very happy. Remember to give Harry a free pass at the mark of his choice this year!
- George Trusk donated a framed, engraved plaque with T-rust fund donators recognized. These donations paid for the 1996 refit of the CYC Shilshole Clubhouse. George and Tom Nylund fixed the Shilshole clubhouse sign.
- Tom Nylund rebuilt the stairway hand rails to meet code, and he did a beautiful finishing job on them.
- Quantum Sails repaired and serviced the CYC burgees.
- Kerry Nielan and Jack Christensen hosted a free two day Thistle Tuning and Racing Clinic .
- John Cahill sorted out the Shilshole Clubhouse sound system and made it operational.
- Joel Thornton arranged the computer and projector for the annual meeting.
- Wayne Balsiger organized the capital campaign team along with team members Pat Schirmer, Pam Nolan, Lori Randall, Susan Bogart and Schelleen Rathkopf.
2004
As the Yeoman’s Corner had been absent from the Leadline for awhile, some of these items are from earlier in the year. Newer additions are at the top of the list. Commodore Jim Lyle reported some new additions on Nov 24, 2004.

- Doug Stumberger edited the 2004 edition of the Helmsman, which looks very nice and only lacks mention of the editor’s name.
- Eric Sanderson and Craig Horsefield sold enough ads for the Helmsman to cover the cost for the production.
- Joel Thornton refinished the floor at the Shilshole clubhouse and organized painting inside.
- Tom Nylund, with help from the Monday Lunch Group, sanded and painted the railings on one ramp into the Shilshole clubhouse, and Bill Buchan sent a crerw who finished the railings on the other ramp under Tom’s direction.
- Jim Miller took on the job of PRO for the CYC Jack and Jill race, relieving Kevin of this duty and saving the club Kevin’s wages for the day. Additionally, Jim, as Fleet Captain Race, provides uncountable hours of volunteer help, maintaining the equipment and helping the Thursday Race Committee on a regular basis.
- Paul Andrepont, Cami and Michael Vranizan, Jamie Stewart, Allan Johnson, Charlie McKee, Jim Miller,and Jim Lyle organized and ran the ORCA Youth Racing Clinic.
