Welcome to the Corinthian Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program. The sport of sailing provides a unique opportunity for children to explore their independence while learning sportsmanship and building character. CYC is committed to teaching the fundamentals of sailing, building confidence and developing friendships in a fun and safe environment. For children, sailing is a social and educational activity; and we understand this better than anybody in the region.

June-August: Summer Sailing Camps (Learn-to Sail, Learn-to Race, and Guppies!): CYC Seattle offers an assortment of summer sailing camps and classes designed for children of many ages and abilities. Junior Racing Team: The CYC Junior Racing Team welcome junior sailors interested in racing of all skill levels. While some Race Team members have done well in racing events of all levels, we also have many members who are learning how to race. Join the CYC Junior Race team for advanced practices and regattas. Why should your child’s sailing journey start at CYC?
Our Coaches – At CYC we have a very experienced team that understands that having fun on and off the water is key to establishing a solid bond with the sport and peers. All of our coaches are certified instructors and CPR/First Aid Trained.
Our Equipment – At CYC we have a fleet of Optimist sailing dinghies designed specifically for youth sailing; forgiving for the beginner, while providing a platform to teach the subtleties to intermediate & advanced youth sailors.
Our Location- The heart of Shilshole bay is perfect place for learning to sail. Summers are famous for bringing light air conditions to the sound that are perfect for beginners. Luckily, Shilshole’s local thermal winds during summer allow your child to have enough wind to sail while some other locations have no wind at all.
Grow in your sailing journey with us- At CYC your child’s sailing adventure does not stop after a few weeks of learn to sail. We have an extended comprehensive program that can take him/her from basic instruction, to intermediate topics and all the way through to local, regional and national competitive racing.
Join a club, not just a sailing program – When you bring your child to CYC, you are bringing them to a sailing club not just to a learn-to-sail program….enjoy the social activities and become part of this great organization….we are always looking for volunteers! Our learn-to-sail camps are open to all; CYC membership is not required.
