Gifting Through Your Will or Trust
We never like to lose CYC members, but inevitably other shores beckon. Before taking that voyage, you may want to consider CYC in your will or trust. Your attorney may find he following language helpful:
”I hereby give, devise and bequeath _____________________ (a dollar amount, or all or a percentage of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate), to Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle, Inc., now or formerly located at 7755 Seaview Avenue NW, Seattle, WA 98117, for its general purposes.”
If you would like to have the funds used for a specific purpose, you could change the last four words to: “for its youth learn-to-sail program,” OR: “for its cruising program” , OR for some other Club activity of particular interest to you. Of course unrestricted gifts give the Board the greatest flexibility to use funds as needed at the time.
