Awards for the 2006 Season

Hans Otto Giese Inspirational Trophy

Awarded to an individual who has consistently provided leadership, inspiration, and contributed to the promotion, advancement, and encouragement of amateur sailing.

Sailor of the Year

Awarded to the sailor who consistently races and places in the top half of race standings in the events of CYC and other yacht clubs.

Boat of the Year

Awarded to the CYC boat that has had an outstanding race season in CYC and other Northwest events this past year. It is not restricted to keel boats.

Boating Family of the Year

Awarded to a family, whether the members sail together or separately in a variety of events. This includes families who make contribution to fleet activities and to other CYC organizations.

Greig Memorial Trophy

Awarded to the cruisers who are active in the regional or local cruising community, for extensive cruising, or who are recognized for their leadership.

Gary Horder Memorial Trophy

Awarded to the Junior Sailor of the Year who enjoyed an active and successful racing program.

George Spalding Trophy

Awarded to the club's most inspirational junior who best exemplifies the CYC spirit of amateur sailing, dedicated effort and fair sportsmanship.

Dog House Trophy

Humorously awarded for the most un-seamanlike activity during the past year.

Northwest Challenge Cup

for best performance at PSSR, PSSC and Center Sound

Werner Ohmes Fog Horn Trophy

for overall best performance in the Center Sound Series

Blakely Rocks Trophy

for first overall in the Blakely Rocks race

Possession Point Trophy

for first overall in the Possession Point race

Pully Point Race Trophy

for first overall in the Pully Point race

The KVI Windjammer Trophy

for first in the Windjammer Series

Stuart's at Shilshole Trophy

for best overall in the Jack and Jill race

The Commodore's Trophy

Gibson Trophy

The Howard Ricketts Trophy

for best overall in the Long Distance Series on Lake Washington
